Starbase 386
Starbase 386 is a Nor-class station under the command of Captain James Lange serving as the command post of Starfleet's 8th Fleet, also known as Horizon Fleet.
For decades before the onset of the Dominion War, Federation space between the Typhon Expanse and the Black Cluster was largely peaceful, aside from an occasional Ferengi or Breen raid. In the waning years of the 23rd century public outcry over the increasing frequency of raids prompted Starfleet to devote more resources to defending the region. One of the facilities built for the protection of Federation citizens against these raids was Starbase 386, located in orbit of the only habitable planet of the Aldani system.
